Welcome to Seven Hills

Case Studies

Seven Hills recently led the high profile international media campaign for the One Young World 2011 summit in Zurich which saw over 1,200 young delegates from 171 countries gather to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

The summit saw passionate keynote speeches from Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Jamie Oliver, Sir Bob Geldof, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Muhammad Yunus and Wael Ghonim, one of the figureheads of the Egyptian revolution, who offered their knowledge and insights to the young delegates.

Seven Hills secured the attendance of more than 80 international journalists from all over the world – from Chile to Australia – and coordinated media interviews, press conferences and photo-calls with several of the world-renowned counsellors including Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Sir Bob Geldof and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway.

Seven Hills co-founder Nick Giles also chaired the press conference with Jamie Oliver where he announced his international campaign against obesity.

Highlights included exclusive broadcast interviews with CNN, CNBC Europe and BBC Radio 4 amongst others to establish One Young World as one of the world’s most important international events. The event was trailed with high profile interviews with One Young World co-founder and Havas CEO, David Jones in The Sunday Times and The Daily Telegraph.

Highlights from the summit included:

  • Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu’s only public address since announcing his retirement
  • Jamie Oliver launching his campaign to tackle the growing threat of obesity around the world
  • Crown Prince Haakon of Norway’s first international speech since the atrocities of July 22
  • Bob Geldof decrying business, politics and the media and calling on the One Young World delegates to act
  • Wael Ghonim and Oscar Morales’ session on the role of social media in forcing political and social change

The closing ceremony saw the launch of #wakeupcall, a global campaign led by seven of the One Young World delegates to force political and business leaders to wake up and start addressing the world’s problems.
