We were delighted to welcome Will King, the founder of King of Shaves, to the office today as a Seven Hills Academy speaker.

Will spoke about his early career in sales, the change in his trajectory that came with the 1990s recession and how he spotted a gap in the male grooming market after struggling with his everyday shave.

After experimenting with essential oils, and decanting no less than 10,000 bottles of shaving oil himself, Will was on his way to making King of Shaves the major men’s grooming challenger brand in the UK.

Will recalled his business journey with passion and humour, sharing valuable insight and tips including social media and how he creates his signature wordplay hashtags. He spoke of how he turned personal dissatisfaction into a commercial resolution and how being successful is all about thinking and acting different, especially in the cut-throat internet age.

Will has been a friend of Seven Hills since the beginning and – true to form – he left the team energised to become Kings (and Queens) of Monday.
