Campaign

Seven Hills delivered a MissionLab for Aon in early 2023 to develop a compelling narrative and campaign for Aon’s IP-financing product that would cut through with entrepreneurs, investors, and the broader scaleup ecosystem.

Through the MissionLab process, we developed a new campaign ‘Funding Innovation’ to position Aon as leading the debate on the funding requirements of DeepTech, IP-rich companies.

The campaign started with a series of roundtable discussions to engage with key stakeholders – gathering 30+ thought leaders, investors, and founders including Aquapak, NatWest, BVCA, Albion VC, Tech UK, Goldman Sachs, HSBC Innovation Bank, Digital Catapult and Aviva.

The insights gathered were supplemented by proprietary research from Beauhurst on the funding landscape for IP-rich companies.

Momentum

The report was launched in November 2023 with a clear set of recommendations to establish a new era of funding to support IP-rich businesses including a robust governmental strategy, specialised funds, a raft of new tax incentives, infrastructure for tomorrow’s technology, and harnessing the opportunity of IP-financing.

The launch brought together 100 investors, founders, and advisers to hear from expert speakers on the scale of the opportunity, the gaps and opportunities for funding growth in the UK, unlocking innovation and growth, and creating a pro-innovation economy.

Senior leaders from British Patient Capital, Oxa Autonomy Limited, London Stock Exchange Group, Scale Up Institute, Oxford Science Enterprises and Legal & General Capital took part.

The campaign generated high engagement on social media from organisations central to the debate and opened up new commercial conversations and opportunities.
