Grant Thornton unveiled Faces of a Vibrant Economy 2018 on Tuesday – its third year championing the inspiring leaders driving innovation, purpose and growth across the UK.
Faces 2018 was launched with a photography exhibition at The Yard in Shoreditch, London where Grant Thornton were joined by over 250 Faces and the wider business community. The event presented portraits of each 2018 Face, bringing to life the work they do and where they do it.
Photoshoots were conducted by JSR Agency, led by Jon Attenborough, alongside five selected student photographers; Connor Gordon, Chloe Hammill, Steven Holmes, Josh Adam Jones and Sophie Pyke.
Grant Thornton launched Faces of a Vibrant Economy in 2016 as part of its commitment to shaping a vibrant economy in the UK. Each year the firm identifies and brings together 100 progressive leaders across private, public and third sectors.
From tech titans and AI trailblazers, to local government leaders and arts curators, farmers and distillers, car manufacturers and car insurers, 2018’s Faces have different backgrounds, but share a commitment to making a positive impact.
Sacha Romanovitch, CEO at Grant Thornton UK LLP, said:
“By celebrating these remarkable leaders, we recognise their role in developing a more purposeful and innovative business environment. They show us how business can be done through ‘human’ leadership which nurtures talent. They provide examples to inspire other business leaders and the next generation to shape a Vibrant Economy. They demonstrate that profits with purpose lead to sustainable business, and show us that it’s not only possible, but also necessary, to do well by doing good.
The 2018 Faces have become part of a wider community that is now 300-strong. The community connects leaders with similar mind-sets and missions, who may otherwise never meet. It gives an opportunity to share ideas and insights, as well as learn from each other.”
