On Tuesday 28th March, finnCap and Rise London welcomed 30 female entrepreneurs to the Haymarket Hotel to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing ambitious entrepreneurs. With a spotlight on funding opportunities for female founders and CEO’s, this morning marked the fourth event in the AIM High series.
Sam Smith, CEO of finnCap, the number one broker to AIM companies and top five advisor on the London Stock Exchange, opened the roundtable with her thoughts on why just seven female-led companies listed on AIM in 2016.
Guests including Priya Guha, Ecosystem and General Manager at Rocket Space, Harriet Hastings, Founder of Biscuiteers, Debbie Wosskow OBE, CEO of LoveHomeSwap and Allbright heard testimonies from AIM veterans Vin Murria, CEO & Founder, Advanced Computer Software, Gail Ganney, Managing Director, GoTech Group plc and Dr Denise Scots-Knight, CEO & Co-founder, Mereo BioPharma, who shared their personal experiences of the IPO process.
The conversation explored why so few women choose to publically list in order to raise funds, and considered the other funding routes available to female entrepreneurs. The series will continue with the AIM High: IPO Summit on 4th May in London.
