f:entrepreneur #ialso top 100 celebrated at house of lords

On Monday, the Seven Hills team was delighted to support Michelle Ovens MBE with f:Entrepreneur, gathering 100 inspirational female entrepreneurs at a House of Lords event to network, exchange insights and to hear a keynote address from Baroness Martha Lane Fox, co-founder of Lastminute.com.

Founded by Michelle Ovens, f:Entrepreneur highlights inspiring business leaders across the UK.

In 2019, the campaign is showcasing the #ialso Top 100 – a list of female entrepreneurs who not only run a business, but also juggle other responsibilities; from providing music lessons to children from less privileged backgrounds to producing their own podcasts, and from running workshops for fellow budding female entrepreneurs to running marathons.

The House of Lords event opened with words from Lord Young of Graffham, who highlighted the growing number of female entrepreneurs he had seen throughout his career.

Baroness Martha Lane Fox then shared the entrepreneurial journey that led to her co-founding Lastminute.com, one of the enduring success stories from the UK dot com boom of the late 1990s. She discussed the hostility and challenges she overcame as a woman in tech, and the need for change in the way women are encouraged to become entrepreneurs.
