Day one of Innovate Finance Global Summit 2017 saw 2000 attendees gather at Guildhall, London to discuss and debate the latest trends, challenges and innovations in FinTech.
Organised by Innovate Finance, the membership association for the UK’s global FinTech community, this was the third instalment of the summit, which brings together speakers and guests from across the world.
Inventor of the World Wide Web Sir Tim Berners-Lee headlined the opening day. He was joined in a fireside chat by Alastair Lukies, Chairman of Innovate Finance, and Mark Barnett, President of Mastercard UK & Ireland Division.

Other leading industry figures present included Eileen Burbidge MBE, FinTech Envoy for HM Treasury, and Michael Harte, Head of Group Innovation at Barclays.
The opening day was brought to a close by the Speakers’ Dinner, where guests had the opportunity to meet and network against the backdrop of Mansion House.

The Pitch360 competition welcomed 24 startups from the worlds of AI, Regtech, Blockchain and more – all pitching for the chance to win £10 000. The winner was GuardSquare, a specialist in security for mobile applications.
Guests were invited to meet and chat with the Pitch360 finalists at the event’s closing reception.
