Here East celebrates 10th anniversary!

This week, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Here East in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park!

To mark the occasion, it published a special edition of its annual Impact Report, commemorating ten years of innovation and collaboration. The report analyses the scale and impact of Here East on the local area and shares stories from people who work and study on its campus.

Independent data from Oxford Economics revealed

  • Over the past decade, Here East created over 10,300 employment opportunities, sustaining £317million in wages and contributing £700million in GVA towards GDP in 2021
  • Over three quarters of respondents reported that the size of their workforce had expanded because of being based at Here East
  • Similarly, nearly two thirds of business respondents reported that since moving to Here East, their turnover or sales have grown
  • Almost all (99%) of the tenants surveyed by Oxford Economics had collaborated with another business on the Here East site, leading to improved knowledge sharing and the upskilling of employees

In an interview with Evening Standard, CEO Gavin Poole said

“These are new jobs to the British economy which didn’t exist before, in a campus which historically host nations have struggled to make something out of — that for me is a strong legacy.”

Seven Hills is proud of its continued work with Here East, establishing it as a well-recognised international centre for innovation, attracting attention from key stakeholders in the business community, top policymakers and technology leaders from around the globe.
