MISSION 

To champion the unsung heroes of the British economy: the home business community.

CAMPAIGN 

Seven Hills worked closely with Vonage UK to create the Home Business 100 – a new community of thriving businesses that started at or operate from home. They span across the UK and operate in a wide variety of industries.

Alongside helping to gather one hundred members of the community, we authored ‘The Heart of Home Business Britain’ – a report that maps the UK’s home business population, exploring the size and economic contribution of home businesses, their demographic and regional distribution and the motivations of the people who set up and run companies from home.

The report was launched at The Trampery, London. High-profile speakers included Lord Bilimoria CBE, founder of Cobra Beer, Emma Jones MBE, founder of Enterprise Nation, Simon Burckhardt, Managing Director of Vonage UK, Tim Campbell MBE, founder of Bright Ideas Trust, Penny Power OBE, CEO of The Business Cafe and Mike Cherry, FSB Policy Chairman.

MOMENTUM

The campaign gained extensive traction in a wide-range of online and print coverage, including The Telegraph, Forbes, Yorkshire Post and Newcastle Chronicle. Vonage UK founder Simon Burckhardt featured on Share Radio to discuss the importance of the home business community to the current and future growth of the UK economy.

The Home Business 100 now has over one hundred members, and continues to grow. Next year, the campaign will develop further, focusing on start-ups and step-ups, businesses that started at home and are now operating out of a more traditional office set-up.
