The Seven Hills Academy welcomed Ed Wray, co-founder of Betfair and Seven Hills Advisory Board Member to the agency this afternoon as its most recent speaker.
Ed spoke about the principal characteristics of a successful entrepreneur and sketched his vision for the future of the fintech sector.
Ed entered the world of entrepreneurship following a career in investment banking. He recalled how he took this professional risk knowing that he would always regret it if he didn’t.
His main piece of advice for budding entrepreneurs was not to fear the prospect of failure. Rather, they should accept that there will always be difficulties and the key is to view these challenges as learning opportunities.
Ed also touched on the impact of Britain’s decision to leave the EU, saying that regardless of political persuasion, entrepreneurs have to take Brexit in their stride and face Britain’s economic future positively.
Ed is the director of LMAX Limited and Prodigy Finance, two of Seven Hills’ clients, and a major investor in several other businesses.
We look forward to his return.
