TLA’s Investor Showcase celebrates the UK’s thriving Healthtech ecosystem

Seven Hills BPI supported Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates at this year’s Healthtech Investor Showcase 2025 at Plexal, Here East, bringing together more than 200 founders, investors and entrepreneurs to champion the UK’s world-class healthtech and life sciences sector.

With the UK now ranked as the third largest tech ecosystem globally, the showcase was a timely moment to spotlight how innovators are scaling cutting-edge technologies, attracting investment, and strengthening ties between academia and industry.

After keynotes from TLA & GTA founder Russ Shaw and Here East COO Mike Magan, the agenda included a healthtech investment landscape session from Beauhurst’s Henry Whorwood, a discussion between leaders from Neu Health and Oxford Science Enterprises on commercialising research, and a fireside chat with both Steve Bates OBE, CEO of the UK Bioindustry Association and Janak Gunatilleke, Head of Health Data and Analytics at KPMG. They explored how to futureproof the UK’s healthtech and biotech ecosystems, with Steve reinforcing London’s growing reputation in the space: “Euston Road is the place for BioTech in the world! Not in Silicon Valley, not in Shanghai, in London.”

On the day of the event, Russ’ opinion piece calling for the UK government to treat healthtech as a strategic priority was published in key sector publication Digital Health, aligning with the showcase’s call for greater support.

Highlights were captured across social media throughout the day and Advocates around the world followed along via the livestream on YouTube, which is still available to watch here.
