Michael is chair of BPI in the UK and is co-founder of Seven Hills.
He is a go to advisor for senior business leaders and is an acknowledged strategist in campaigning communications for corporations around the world.
Michael is the co-author of the Penguin Random House business title: Mission – How The Best In Business Break Through.
He has helped to harness the insights from this book into the consultancy positioning tool: MissionLab, which is regularly used to develop communications strategies for leading businesses.
Michael also hosts the Seven Hills BPI podcast Change Makers, which presents fresh ideas and inspirational life stories from people with a passion – the campaigners, creators, connectors and contrarians – making a difference.
He studied for a postgraduate degree at the London School of Economics and undergraduate at Queen Mary. Today he is an Honorary Professor In Practice at both the University of London (where he also holds an honorary doctorate) and Nottingham Business School.
Michael co-founded the national campaign for early stage enterprise, StartUp Britain, which was launched by then Prime Minister David Cameron and fully supported by HM Government.
Michael is national Chair of Entrepreneurs at the private bank and wealth manager Coutts. He is also Chair of the Advisory Council of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
He writes regularly for CityAM and is a contributing editor for Country & Town House.
Michael was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to enterprise promotion, entrepreneurship and education. He is also a Deputy Lieutenant in the County of Surrey.
