Tech London Advocates brings the Investor Showcase back to Here East

The Tech London Advocates Investor Showcase returned to Here East at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park yesterday. Some 800 leading figures from across the tech community joined Britain’s biggest investors, industry figureheads and campaigners to debate the challenges and opportunities for the city’s digital economy in the wake of the ongoing Brexit negotiations.

This was the 14th TLA event which Seven Hills has supported. It featured addresses from the founder of Tech London Advocates & Global Tech Advocates, Russ Shaw, Director-General of the CBI, Carolyn Fairbairn, Minister for Digital and Creative Industries, Margot James MP, along with a series of discussions and debates with CEO and founder of BGF, Stephen Welton, CEO of UKBAA, Jenny Tooth OBE, Head of Communications & Diversity at Innovate Finance, Clare Black, co-founder of GP Bullhound Manish Madhvani, and many more.

Research from Tech London Advocates showed that 1 in 4 London tech businesses are experiencing delays in securing investment as a result of Brexit. However, there is clear optimism from leaders in the sector that London will remain Europe’s leading centre for technology businesses and scale-up firms.

The event came to a close in the Marketplace, offering investors and start-ups located at Hear East an opportunity to connect and network.
