This year’s Tech London Advocates Investor Showcase saw more than 100 leaders from the investment, tech and business world gathering at Here East, with many hundreds more tuning in online.
In the midst of a global tech downturn and following the shock of the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, 2023 has already thrown some big challenges at tech communities around the world. The Investor Showcase provided an excellent platform to discuss what these recent developments mean for the future of the tech and investment landscape.
The event was expertly moderated by Ben Thompson and spearheaded by Russ Shaw CBE, founder of Global Tech Advocates and Tech London Advocates, who led a lineup of speakers that included some of the biggest names in tech investment in the UK, including Anne Glover and Saul Klein.
Panel discussions covered a variety of important topics, such as the race to net zero, the future of tech investment and the urgent need for more diversity in the investment world. Highlights of the day included a keynote address by Stephen Nundy from Lakestar illustrating the importance of tech sovereignty and a presentation on the latest data trends in the UK investment landscape delivered by Beauhurst’s Henry Whorwood.
Seven Hills was delighted to deliver the TLA & GTA Investor Showcase and support Tech London Advocates on all fronts from setting up insightful panel discussions to handling media relationships.
We kicked off the day with an opinion piece in City AM that discussed current challenges in the tech sector. Beyond that, journalists from CNBC, the Daily Mail, La Tribune and TechInformed attended the event, sharing their opinions live on social media, interviewing investors and publishing articles on the event.
